Many home buyers don’t have the technical background to properly evaluate the home’s structural and mechanical systems and may not be able to evaluate how one component of the house might affect the operability or lifespan of another. Going through the property and performing a comprehensive visual inspection to assess the condition of the home and all of its systems, will determine the components that are not performing properly as well as items that are beyond the useful life expectancy or considered unsafe.

 

Purchasing a home is the single largest investment that an individual will make in his or her lifetime. Most purchases are based on a visual perception or an emotional connection. At times, relying on a visual perception could make it extremely difficult for the purchaser to remain objective and unemotional. This could lead to impaired judgment on the part of the purchaser. One of the best ways to understand a home’s condition, habitability and safety is to hire a JefCan professional home inspector.

 

The inspection will also provide the purchaser with a greater measure of protection from unpleasant surprises after moving into their new home.

 

A home inspection may take anywhere from 2½ hours to 4 hours depending on the age, size and the number of defects that may be found. Upon completion of the inspection, the client will receive a report about the condition of the home. If you, the client, have any questions about your home or your report we offer free ongoing advice and consultation as long as you own the home. The inspection report is well laid out and broken down into components so that it is easy for the client to understand and use to their advantage.

A home inspection is visual in nature, non-destructive and non-invasive. The inspector is a guest in the home and needs to respect the seller’s property. The inspector will not move furniture, lift carpets, cut holes in walls, shovel snow, dismantle equipment or take pictures inside the home. Using a Moisture Meter to detect wet spots in basement walls and foundations gives you the client greater protection. We allow you the client to look into the attic if you wish but we do not allow you to enter it for safety reasons. The inspection is a visual inspection due to various limitations. For this reason it is important to hire an experienced inspector with excellent communication skills and a strong technical background.

*  Dc54Your own detailed and comprehensive report delivered to you on site.  No other reporting system helps convey my findings better!  In your Report you'll find detailed report sheets including "The Overall Picture" this page will highlight the safety issues and what you should budget for in the next couple of years.  All inspections come with a Home Care and Maintenance guide detailed and easy to understand over 100 pages of step by step instructions with diagrams that will cover many of the topics we discuss during your inspection.  You will get value in your report and appreciate the attention to detail.
