Inspection Information
At JefCan
Home Inspections Inc. it is our mission to provide professional high end
home inspections for potential home purchasers at competitive rates with a
personal touch.
In a matter of a couple of hours
your Registered Home Inspector and National Certificate Holder that has
been professionally trained will
advise you through a detailed, easy to understand report of the condition of
the home’s mechanical and structural components. A home inspection is a vital part
of the process of purchasing a home, assisting you with the decision to buy.
Many home buyers don’t have the technical background to properly evaluate the
home’s structural and mechanical systems and may not be able to evaluate how
one component of the house might affect the operability or lifespan of another.
That is why it’s best to hire a JefCan
home inspector.
The inspection is not meant to be
used to determine the value of the home.
Often a buyer of a new home wonders
if a home inspection is a good idea, absolutely! Have the inspection performed
if you’re buying a brand new home within the first 30 days or the first 12
months if you wish to take advantage of the Tarion Home Warranty program.
Why everyone needs a JefCan
Home Inspection?
We’ve been in the home inspection
business since 2002 and have performed many home inspections. Our clients have
trusted us to inspect a wide range of homes from older (century) homes to brand
new homes.
We have gone through the most
rigorous training program available. Going through the property and performing
a comprehensive visual inspection to assess the condition of the home and all
of its systems, will determine the components that are not performing properly
as well as items that are beyond the useful life expectancy or considered
unsafe.
Purchasing a home is the single
largest investment that an individual will make in his or her lifetime. Most
purchases are based on a visual perception or an emotional connection. At
times, relying on a visual perception could make it extremely difficult for the
purchaser to remain objective and unemotional. This could lead to impaired
judgment on the part of the purchaser. One of the best ways to understand a
home’s condition, habitability and safety is to hire a JefCan
professional home inspector.
The inspection will also provide the
purchaser with a greater measure of protection from unpleasant surprises after
moving into their new home.
A home inspection may take anywhere
from 2½ hours to 4 hours depending on the age, size and the number of defects
that may be found. Upon completion of the inspection, the client will receive a
report about the condition of the home. If you, the client, have any questions
about your home or your report we offer free ongoing advice and consultation as
long as you own the home. The inspection report is well laid out and broken
down into components so that it is easy for the client to understand and use to
their advantage.

Why Choose JefCan Home
Inspections?
A JefCan
Home Inspection is not the same as every other home inspection; we were
trained by the best! We meet the standards of the Ontario Association of Home
Inspectors and our client’s expectations. We ensure our clients have learned
from the inspection and have the confidence required to make an informative
decision about the home they are about to purchase.
At JefCan
we deliver a professional thorough home inspection.
A home inspection is visual in
nature, non-destructive and non-invasive. The inspector is a guest in the home
and needs to respect the seller’s property. The inspector will not move
furniture, lift carpets, cut holes in walls, shovel snow, dismantle equipment
or take pictures inside the home. Using a Moisture
Meter to detect wet spots in basement walls and foundations gives you the
client greater protection. We allow you the client to look into the attic if
you wish but we do not allow you to enter it for safety reasons. The inspection
is a visual inspection due to various limitations. For this reason it is
important to hire an experienced inspector with excellent communication skills
and a strong technical background.
